Returns the Bari International Film Festival, from 2 to 9 April in Bari.

Now in its seventh edition, the Bif&st this year will celebrate two great artists of Italian cinema: Ettore Scola and Marcello Mastroianni. The theme of the festival will be then "Scola- Mastroianni 9½", since the director has directed more than anyone else the actor who died 20 years ago: they have worked together in nine feature films, plus an episodic film. It will also set up the Ettore Scola Award for Best New Director.
They recur in 2016 20 years after his death (Paris, December 19, 1996) Marcello Mastroianni to whom the festival of Bari and Foundation of Cinematography-Cineteca Nazionale Experimental Center dedicated a retrospective of 50 films supplemented by a large number of documentary materials from by RAI Teche and Istituto Luce archives. The Bif & st 2016, conceived and directed by Felice Laudadio, with the Steering Committee composed of Angelo Ceglie, Enrico Magrelli, Marco Spagnoli and advice of Beatrice Kruger for new talents, will be oriented, in its various sections, to narrate the art, the talent, the work of actors and actresses.
The Bif & st 2016 program was followed in detail and taken care of by Ettore Scola until a few days before his disappearance. The great director will then, for the next edition, the president of the Bari International Film Festival, which has already seen him for six years (took up the post in June 2010) active animator and protagonist of the event. A Scola will be dedicated a large tribute by publishing a book, with a series of meetings and discussions on his work, with an essential retrospective which will intersect with that for Mastroianni.
The Festival is: promoted by Regione Puglia - President Michele Emiliano; produced by the Apulia Film Commission - President Maurizio Sciarra; with the collaboration of the City of Bari, with the support of the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers for the Tribute to Ettore Scola, with RAI main media partner, with sponsorship of Mercedes-Motor.
