Beppe joins the army and is sent in Sicily. Here he meets Mariantonia and they become a married couple. After few months, Beppe is transferred in Milan. Here he meets Lucia, falls in love and decides to marry her. Meanwhile Mariantonia, after becoming suspicious, leaves for Milan and, arrived at Beppe's house, finds out his betrayal.
