Death in Venice

Morte a Venezia From Thomas Mann's tale, a middle aged german musician in a spiritual crisis goes on holiday to Venice. He meets a family whose effeminate son seems to reproduce his aesthetic ideal thath he has pursued for his whole life. He will die lonely on a beach chair in front of the sea. It won the BAFTA for: Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best costume Design, Best Sound Track; a prize to the director at Cannes Festival; the David di Donatello for the Best Director; the Italian Golden Globe as the Best Film; the Silver Ribbon as: Best Director, Best Supportin Actress, Best Costume Design, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography.
