Begin in Naples the shooting of Napoli Velata by Ferzan Ozpetek

Napoli Velata

Shooting of the film Napoli Velata, the new film by Ferzan Ozpetek, started on Saturday 13th in Naples.

In recent days, the director has been the protagonist of another great event in Naples. La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi, which was performed at the Teatro San Carlo from April 23 to May 5 and revisited by Ozpetek, which set it in Paris in 1910 and has recourse to prestigious sceneries staged by the Oscar-winner Dante Ferretti.

Now he returns to Naples to shoot his new movie here.

Napoli Velata will be the tale of a city suspended between magic and superstition, madness and rationality: "I want to tell the secrets of a city that knows gold and dust, a pagan and sacred Naples at the same time," Ozpetek revealed. "Within the thriller then explodes a great love story." A mystery wraps up the existence of Adriana (Giovanna Mezzogiorno) overwhelmed by sudden love and a violent crime.

The cast is really important. In addition to Giovanna Mezzogiorno includes Alessandro Borghi and then Anna Bonaiuto, Isabella Ferrari, Lina Sastri, Peppe Barra, Luisa Ranieri, Biagio Forestieri and Maria Pia Calzone.

The screenplay of Napoli velata is signed by the director together with Gianni Romoli and Valia Santella. The film is produced by Tilde Corsi and Gianni Romoli for R&C Productions with Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and Faros Film. On screens, the film is expected from January 1, 2018 and will be released by Warner Bros Pictures.

Location

The shootings will last until July for seven weeks.

As far as the locations are still not complete. Certainties are two. The first is that a location will definitely be the National Museum (stated the same director at a press conference). The second is that, according to Ozpetek, "We will see an unusual and beautiful Napoli. The opposite of Naples told by Gomorra. Gomorra could be anywhere ....... In my opinion I have to talk about the other part of the city "
