From yesterday to August 2, the Ventotene Film Festival

The 23rd edition of the Ventotene Film Festival began yesterday and continues until 2 August.

Ten days of cinema, events, debates on this island as small as enchanting and evocative for the history of our country and Europe.

The Festival has had a prologue yesterday morning with an event at the Cassino Prison: Daphne Scoccia presented the film Fiore by Claudio Giovannesi, of which he is protagonist, to the detainees at the Cassino Prison.

At 6:30 p.m. the opening on the island with the initiative: "Love, Law, Civil Unions" with Antonio Veneziani, Marta Bonafoni, Margherita Buy and Monica Cirinnà who received the Julia Major Prize.

The meeting went off at "Da Verde" in Piazza Castello under the section "Dialogues at sunset"

The "A Sea of Cinema" is officially opened at 8pm, which is held every night in the Archaeological Garden. Margherita Buy received the Wind of Europe Award and then Me, Myself & Her by Maria Sole Tognazzi will be screened and followed by Sole Cuore Amore by Daniele Vicari.

Today at 10:00 p.m. will be projected Let you go by Francesco Amato and Julieta by Pedro Almodovar.

Tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. at "Zia Amalia" in Piazza Castello, a meeting with Roberto Zaccaria, Rita Visini, Sandra Zampa. Following the jury presentation of the # OpenFrontiers # contest and the award of the Julia Major Prize to Sandra Zampa.

In the evening at 10:00 p.m. will be projected Let you go of Francesco Amato and Julieta by Pedro Almodovar.

On July 27 at 10:00 p.m. meeting with Antonio Piazza, Fabio Grassadonia and Marco Mancassola. Following the projection of Siciian Ghost Story by Antonio Piazza and Fabio Grassadonia and Ave Cesare by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen.

On the 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the Hotel "Mezzatorre" in Piazza Castello, meeting on Brexit with Marco Mancassola and the European Parliamentar Silvia Costa.

At 10:00 p.m. for the section "A sea of cinema" meeting with Cristian Mungiu and delivery of the Wind of Europe Award. Following A Father and a Daughter of Cristian Mungiu and Captain Fantastic by Matt Ross.

Saturday, July 29 at 10:00 p.m., always at the Archaeological Garden, meeting with Sergio Castellitto and delivery of the Wind of Europe Award. Here is the projection of Fortunata by Sergio Castellitto and Sing Street by John Carney.

Sunday 30 July for "A sea of cinema" meeting with Francesco Bruni and following the projection of Everything You Want by Francesco Bruni and Manchester by the sea by Kenneth Lonergan.

Monday 31 returns "Dialogues at sunset". At 6:30 p.m. at "Il Gabbiano" in Piazza Castello meeting with Giulio Scarpati and Nora Venturini, presentation of "The hour of tip".

At 10:00 p.m., at the Archaeological Garden, meeting with Massimo Wertmüller and Projection of Ears by Alessandro Aronadio and Güeros by Alonso Ruizpalacios.

On August 1 at 6:30 p.m. for "A Sea of Cinema" screening of the films The Children of the Night by Andrea De Sica and of the award-winning La Land by Damien Chazelle.

Wednesday, August 2 closing at 6:30 at the Archeological Garden meeting with Jasmine Trinca and delivery of the Julia Major Prize and following the projection of Honey by Valeria Golino.
