Girotondo by Tonino Abballe: stories of violence told gently

Girotondo

From Thursday June 22 in cinemas Girotondo, Tonino Abballe's new film.

The film, which was presented in Rome last Thursday, tells with great delicacy themes and stories of all days experienced by men and women like physical and psychological violence.

The path of life narrated through the figures of Erika and Loredana: the violence suffered by their partner or by a stranger in the street, the suffering suffered during a separation or betrayal, the difficult decisions to take, and the consequences. It is a matter of common men and women, but who, in spite of everything, still believe in love.

The male figure is silent and faceless to represent the male in his generality and his facets. That possessive, violent man, led by an irrational passion, then leaves the place to that man who is betrayed and who struggles for his son.

The complexity of life, the contrast between suffering and joy that it brings. But above all, the multiplicity of points of view and the subjectivity of the concept of reason or wrong in sentimental relations.
