Tommaso, an umble singer, and Marina are expecting their first child who, unfortunately, dies immediately after his birth. During the same night another woman gave birth to an healthy baby, but she died in childbirth. So the couple decides to adopt and take care of that baby. After a short time even Marina dies and Tommaso is left alone with the baby. The situation gets complicated when the real father of the baby shows up and, with a legal action, obtains his custody.
