The son of an Italian rich owner, is living his years away from duties and responsibilities while his father wants him to be introduced to the family business. He is kidnapped by his father's collaborators, jailed into a sanitarium, put through the electroshock and other torments. Then, when 'normalized' he marries a woman who in reality is a psychologist paid by his father. He discovered everything and killed her. It won the Italian Golden Globe for the Best First Feature.
