Malèna Sicily, World War II. Malena, the most beautiful and wanted woman of the village, is left alone after her husband's departure for the front. The woman becomes the love interest of the young Renato. The boy, who has become obsessed, since he can't confess his feelings, begin to follow the woman, spying on her, and even stealing a piece of her underwear. The film won the David di Donatello for Best Cinematography and the Silver Ribbon for Best Score.
