Morte di un matematico napoletano The film is about the last eight days of the mathematician Renato Caccioppoli, a man tormented and strange behaviors, who decided to kill himself with a shot gun. The movie won the Silver Lion - Grand Special Jury Prize at the 49th Venice International Film Festival. In addition, director Mario Martone won the Silver Ribbon and the David di Donatello ad Best New Director while Carlo Cecchi won the Special David.
