It was a surprise, for those who were to spend yesterday in the streets around the Tor Cucherna, the bump into the ribs insisted by a donkey or in the calls launched by no less than a white Andean alpacas.

A set from Trieste

The ancient tower and the adjoining courtyard hosted the outdoor set of "Ether" for the whole day, a new work by Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi.

The director, with a good time jump, immersed in the rural atmosphere of Galicia in the early 1900s.

The Trieste set has opened the Italian three days that, in the shoooting schedule, arrives right at the end of the shoot, which began in summer in Budapest and continues in the Magyar campaign. ù

A film between: Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Hungary

Then there was Poland, a segment in September in Ukraine, and then a return to the homeland of Zanussi and Hungary.

Today the crew and cast will move to Palmanova and tomorrow will be at Villa Codelli in Mossa (Go) for two days in which they will be realized "mainly internal but also some outside".

As for the Italian side, the co-production that brings together Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Hungary also received a loan of 52,500 euros from the FVG Film Fund of the Regional Film Commission.

Several languages spoken on the set, from English to Polish to French.

Among the many insiders it was not difficult to see the Trieste Francesco Fonda, set designer of the Italian side, who worked among others for Tornatore, Ozpetek and for very famous TV series.

The scene included a long cart where the movement of three extras, including a mother with a child dressed hands and cloaks long dresses, crossed two actors supporting.

The cold gave no respite, with the extras wrapped in blankets in the breaks between a claw and the other and the owners of the animals to make sure the quadrupeds were comfortable. The beautiful specimen of alpacas arrived from Vigonza (Pd), already arrived the day before with specific transport of animals, "ready" for the first take at 9 o'clock.
