Filming of Clint Eastwood's new movie in Venice has started today

Clint EastwoodFrom this morning, in Venice near the Santa Lucia station, and until August 18th they will be filmed some scenes from Clint Eastwood's new film.

This is The 15:17 to Paris: the true story of a terrorist, a train, and three American heroes.

In the film, the director tells the true story of the attack in 2015 on the Bruxelles-Paris railroad, foiled thanks to the intervention of three Americans, two soldiers and a civilian. They are Anthony Sadler, Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos, who are part of the cast of the film. Besides, the film is taken from the same book written by the three Americans along with journalist and writer Jeffrey E. Stern.

Clint Eastwood has arrived for a few days in Venice, at the Cipriani Hotel in Giudecca, accompanied by his wife Christina Sandera.

Among the chosen locations, the Hotel Gritti in whose terrace on the St. Mark's Basin Eastwood will shoot some scenes of the film. But there will be many Venetian iconic places interested, from the roofs of the city to the interior of Palazzo Pisani and the conservatory Benedetto Marcello.

For the occasion, an entire vaporetto was rented that will cross the waters of the Grand Canal.

For the three days of Venetian shooting, more than 400 extras have been engaged to impersonate the many tourists who daily pour into the city.

The film is produced by Warner Bros.
