Il premio

The shooting of The award by Alessandro Gassmann began in early may.

That is the third film by Gassmann as director after Razzabastarda (2012) and the documentary film Torn - Strappati (2015)

The Prize tells the journey of Giovanni Passamonte, an internationally renowned writer who is awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. For fear of flying, Passamonte decided to leave for Stockholm with Rinaldo, his assistant forever.

Unexpectedly, his two children join them: Oreste, owner of a gym near closing and Lucrezia, inconclusive and neurotic blogger.

During the many stages of this journey full of unforeseen events, the group will meet curious characters who will ironically question the protagonists' certainties, forcing them finally to unveil unsuspected family dynamics and to really know each other.

The film is played by Gigi Proietti (Giovanni Passamonte), Alessandro Gassmann (Oreste, son of Giovanni), Anna Foglietta (Lucrezia, daughter of Giovanni), Rocco Papaleo (Rinaldo), Matilda De Angelis, Marco Zitelli with Erica Blanc and with friendly participation of Andrea Jonasson.

The screenplay is by Valter Lupo, Alessandro Gassmann. The photography by Federico Schlatter.

The film will be shot in Italy, Rome and South Tyrol, and in Denmark.

The award is produced by Fulvio and Federica Lucisano for Italian International Film with Vision Distribution and with the collaboration of IDM - Film Commission Alto Adige. The film is distributed by Vision Distribution.
