Sardinia arrives in Berlin with: My daughter

My daughter, the feature film by Laura Bispuri, with Valeria Golino and Alba Rohrwacher. He was selected in competition at the Berlin Film Festival from 15 to 25 February 2018.

My daughter ... production

The Sardinia Film Commission Foundation announces it. Produced by Marta Donzelli and Gregorio Paonessa for Vivo film and Alessandro Usai and Maurizio Totti for Colorado Film. With Rai Cinema, it will be released in Italy in February.

Distributed by 01 Distribution and abroad by The Match Factory. The film received the support of Eurimages, of MibacT, Directorate General of Cinema, of the Sardinia Region and the support of the Sardinia Film Commission Foundation.

My daughter ... Synopsis

This is the story of a child divided between two mothers. One that has grown up with love and devotion for ten years and a natural mother who by chance and by instinct comes to claim it and is entirely set in contemporary Sardinia.

For the first time since the foundation of the Sardegna Film Commission Foundation, a film 'made in Sardinia' enters the Berlinale competition.

Discovering a territory

The Foundation has followed the birth of this project since 2013, inviting the director Laura Bispuri to discover Sardinia with a series of scouting and meetings on the territory. Meetings with the community of the novices of southern Sardinia and of Barbagia.  

Thanks to the commitment of the Sardinia Film Commission in supporting the director and production, in an international story with a Sardinian soul, not only in the locations and in history, but also through the many island professionals involved. The shooting lasted 6 weeks with a troupe of 57 people housed in the municipality of Cabras.

The locations involved were: Cabras, Riola Sardo, San Vero Milis, Oliena.

The film is the beneficiary of a contribution of 192,500 assigned by the Region. La Vivo Film has decided to apply the green protocol 'Sardegna Green Film Shooting'.

Developed by the Sardinia Film Commission Foundation, which ensured full assistance from development to post production.

'My daughter' was written by Francesca Manieri and Laura Bispuri with the photograph of Vladan Radovic, the montage of Carlotta Cristiani.

The original music by Nando Di Cosimo, the costumes by Antonella Cannarozzi, the set design by Ilaria Sadun. The cast is completed by Udo Kier and Michele Carboni.
