Taranta on the Road: an intense and exciting road movie between Basilicata and Apulia
It is now in cinemas the film Taranta on the Road by Salvatore Allocca.
"The film" writes the director "has as its theme the conflict that sometimes arises between the need to realize their personal ambitions and the need to live life full even when these goals have not been (yet) achieved. A conflict between two fundamental aspects of human existence that often leads to the creation of wrong priority orders and to forget how important it is to live, always and in any case, to live their lives to the full. The journey of the protagonists of Taranta on the Road is not only a physical journey but is also and above all existential. And this journey between characters apparently so far away, yet so close, will be the occasion to show how many cultural differences can be more nuanced than they are believed to be. The style of the film will try to be hyperrealistic, with an essential, direct and introspective mood. A language designed to bring the spectator into a hectic succession of sounds, sounds and colors that will make Taranta on the Road an intense, emotional and sketchy road movie. A dramatic comedy that tries to explain that, just putting yourself into play, life can reserve pleasant surprises up to a few moments before unthinkable. "
In the aftermath of the Arab spring of 2011, Amira and Tarek, two Tunisian migrants without anything in common, reach the Italian coast. By chance, they both find help from a Salento band in search of success in festivals and weddings, exchanging them for a couple waiting for a son, deciding to help them reach France.
The journey, the fear, the love, the uncertainty of the future, and the desire to find their way, will all unite in a unique experience that will perhaps change their lives forever.
