A film deeply attached to the roots of the earth "We have forgotten who we are as this earth". A land seen as a real source of values that feeds and moves the protagonists of the film.

The plot

Pasquale returns to his country of origin in Calabria after the vice of the game has moved him away from the family and has made him a lonely and shy man. Nicholas Gaffney is a man unjustly slandered without ever having been able to clarify with his only daughter, Concetta. The strange and mysterious encounter between the two will bring Pasquale and his friend Lino on a journey '' on the road '' in search of the girl to reconnect her to his father and to his land and find a way to forgive themselves.

Director

Renato Pagliuso is a director intimately tied to his land. Calabria is the theater of his films. His work is a constant search for what there is of values and strengths in the depths of this land beyond the sad and negative image that too often prevails.

Among his works include the documentaries "Gangs yes.... but musical ", directed together with Pino Perri, a road trip in search of musical bands of Calabria; "The oldest show in the world" dedicated to the world of the circus; the film "Licorice - Your roots".

The cast

In the cast of the film stands out the presence of Robert Woods, octogenarian American actor. In the mid-sixties Robert Woods was one of the most popular actors of the spaghetti western. In particular, he played the gunman Pecos Martinez in two films directed by Maurizio Lucidi. Other films include "7 women for Mac Gregor" by Franco Giraldi and "Karzan against women by bare-breasted" by the Spanish director Jesús Franco.

The other main characters are Paolo Mauro, Marco Silani and Chiara Conti.

The locations

The film is shot mostly in Morano Calabro, a Calabrian town of the province of Cosenza. At the foot of the Pollino massif, since 2003 is part of the circuit of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club, his name was put on the list of European destinations of EDEN Project of the European Commission. This list contains the destinations proposed as an example of good practices for sustainable tourism. Other shooting were made next to Sibari Lakes, in Castrovillari and in Rome.
