The tenderness by Gianni Amelio: a story of restless feelings in the bourgeois Naples

La tenerezza

The Tenderness, the new film by Gianni Amelio starring Elio Germano, Micaela Ramazzotti, Giovanna Mezzogiorno and Greta Scacchi, is released today in cinemas.

The film, freely inspired by the novel "The temptation to be happy" by Lorenzo Marone, was entirely filmed in Naples. The city is getting to know a great season these months for the attention given to it by national and international directors. However Naples has many faces to show. Thus, after the lively, vibrant and colorful Naples, who is the protagonist of the new film by Stefano Incerti, now with Amelio we live the bourgeois Naples.

Synopsis

La tenerezza

Feelings that cross between smile and violence. A father and her unloved children, a brother and a sister in conflict, a young couple who looks serene. And children who see and can not rebel. The story of two families in an unpublished Naples, far from the periphery, a bourgeois city where welfare can turn into tragedy, though hope is at hand.

The commentary by the Director

La tenerezza

The Tenderness is a story of restless feelings: between fathers and children, brothers and sisters, between people in seemingly serene. Feelings are the strongest and most fragile thing we have, are at risk and put us at risk. Love does not help us anymore when it is over, it makes us wrong again, it becomes a malaise that loses reason.
