Trentino will be the location of "Climbing IRAN"

Climbing IRAN, a documentary by Francesca Borghetti, will be filmed in Trentino; that will be the location of Italian shooting.

In the frame of the 66th Trento Film Festival (April 26th - May 6th 2018) some of the Italian preparations for "Climbing IRAN" will take place.

"Climbing IRAN"

This is the documentary film by Francesca Borghetti, produced with Nanof and focused on the story of Nasim Eshqi, mountaineer and Iranian climber.

A champion, able to open rock routes and the only professional woman who practices outdoors in Iran.

Filming in Trentino

It will be Trentino and in particular the walls in the Tonale area, the location of the Italian shooting of the documentary that will be shot mainly in Iran.

Guest of the Trento Film Festival, Nasim will be held on Tuesday, May 1st at 6.30 pm, at the SOSAT headquarters (Via Malpaga, 17).

A presentation of his enterprises in the meeting "Climbing in Iran and freedom. How gravity leads to equality ".

On the occasion of this event, together with the production team, he will do the surveys for the shooting of the summer.

The crowdfunding campaign begins

The documentary is a finalist at the Solinas Prize 2017, at PerSo 2017 and at Visioni Incontra 2017.

To finance part of the shooting, the crowdfunding campaign will be launched on May 1st on Eppela: www.eppela.it/climbingiran.

The protagonist, Nasim Eshqi

Born and raised in Teheran and former Kick Boxing champion, Nasim is an Iranian mountaineer and climber who is an expert in outdoor climbing in Iran.

She is the only professional woman who practices outdoors in Iran, where she has several first ascents and openings in the streets, as well as in Armenia, Georgia, India and Turkey.

As a self-taught person he managed to reach level 8B in the wall. It teaches the practice of outdoor climbing, especially for young people.

Who is Francesca Borghetti

With a background in Cultural Anthropology, Francesca has been involved in documentaries since 2000, and has gained experience in the conception, writing, production and direction of audiovisual products, particularly in the narrative documentary.

He has worked extensively with DocLab, Fabulafilm and Babel Tv.

Among the latest works, he has signed as author the series "Dancing Stories" produced by Rai 5, and as the author and director of the doc series "A world of women" produced by Userfarm for Rai Storia.

Nanof

Independent production company, founded by Lorenzo Garzella and Filippo Macelloni in 2001 in Rome.

He deals with cinema, cross-media projects, short films, installations, television.

He has realized film and TV projects distributed in Italy and abroad and develops projects of creative documentary on themes of contemporary society, culture, sport, art and history.
