Turin Piedmont Film Commission: 125 productions in the region in 2016
2016 was a year of extraordinary results for Turin and Piedmont Film Commission and FIP Film Investment Piedmont.
It is indeed confirmed and consolidated the great revival of the industry started in 2015.
The commitment of the institutions has resulted in a total outstanding number of productions.
They are well 125, including 16 feature films, 8 TV dramas, 15 short films, 20 documentaries and 66 between commercials, news reports and video clips. The activity on the territory has committed the industry players for more than 60 weeks of preparation and 125 weeks of work. Numerous local professionals were involved.
The results in terms of labor and economic benefits are significant. They were created job opportunities for 566 local professionals and technical workers, more than 150 local actors and 5,000 extras. The total return on the area is estimated at 15.6 million euro.
Piedmont has established itself as an important district of the cinema and audiovisual. The Guidance on the production of FCTP website contains profiles of 156 production companies, 167 service facilities and almost 1,400 individual professionals and actors/actresses.
Among the most important productions hosted in Piedmont during the 2016 that of Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. They shot in Cuneo a part of the new film, "A private matter", by Beppe Fenoglio's novel, starring Luca Marinelli. The director Paolo Franchi directed "Where I have never lived" with Fabrizio Gifuni and Emmanuelle Devos.
Among television productions to report the third season of "That our love", the highly anticipated debut in fiction by Francesca Archibugi, "Family novel", and the start of the second season of "Thou shalt not kill" with Miriam Leone.
2016 was also the year of the revival of the production center Telecittà of San Giusto Canavese. Here it was filmed the TV drama "Sacrifice of love" by Endemol Shine Italy.
