Due soldi di speranza Antonio wants to marry Carmela but are both very poor. They will find support in the generosity of their fellow villagers. The movie won the Silver Ribbon for Best Story and Best Cinematography whiule Renato Castellani won the same prize for Best Director. Moreover the film won the Grand Prix du Festival for Best Film at the 5th Cannes Film Festival.
