From the novel with the same name by Elena Ferrante, the film tells the story of Clelia, famous illustrator of Bologna who, after many years, returns to Naples to shed light on the mysterious death of his mother, found drowned in the sea. The movie won the David di Donatello for Best Director, Best supporting actress to Angela Luce and Best Actress to Anna Bonaiuto. For the same category, Bonaiuto also won a Silver Ribbon, an italian Golden Globe and a Golden Goblet.
