History of Love

These days have begun the filming of the film History of Love, the new film by Sonja Prosenc.

The film is played by the young and promising Slovenian actress Doroteja Nadrah (Class Enemy) and by Norwegian actor Kristoffer Joner (King of Devil's Island, Revenant). Among others in the cast Zita Fusco and Daniele Tenze.

Sonia Prosenc is one of the most important emerging directors in Slovenia. Her first work Drevo (The Tree) was selected by Slovenia for the Oscars 2016. The film was presented at Karlovy Vary IFF, won the Slovenian Film Festival and won the Youthful Jury Prize at the Film by the Sea festival.

History of Love is the story of Iva, a girl who, after the disappearance of her mother, discovers the secret past. Because of a hearing deficit, Iva has raised a barrier between herself and the side of her mother's life-related music. When her mother dies and Iva discovers her mother's extramarital relationship with the conductor Erik, she will venture on an unexpected journey through past and present, anger and guilt, pain and desire for truth.

The film is an international co-production involving Monoo (Slovenia), Nefertiti Film (Italy) and Incitus (Norway).

History of Love will be filmed in Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia. In Friuli the locations involved are Gorizia, the Bruno Bianchi Municipal Swimming Pool and the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste, the Isonzo River and the Marina Julia Camping Village in Monfalcone.
