XV Edition of the RIFF from November 24 to December 1 in Rome

The RIFF comes back with a tribute to Claudio Caligari and the new section on issues of gender identity - LGBTQ – Focus on USA and Spain

From November 24 to December 1, 2016 will be the 15th edition of the Rome Independent Film Festival (RIFF), in the Savoy Cinema in Rome, where he will be featured over one hundred films and "independent" documentaries in absolute preview Italian and European.

New in this edition is the LGBTQ-themed section that includes various titles of award-winning works from international festivals.

During the Festival, directed by Fabrizio Ferrari, will be given ample space to the Italian films in partnership with CINEDEAF, some titles will be subtitled for the deaf and dumb.

In this edition, for the out of competition section, will be present US, Spain, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina including the USA exhibition that includes Awol di Deb Shoval, The Truth About Lies di Phil Allocco, Wildlike di Frank Hall Green.

The review on Claudio Caligari includes his three films - Toxic Love (1983), The smell of the night (1998), Do not be evil (2015) and for the twentieth anniversary of the end of the Bosnian war there will be the Review of Sarayevo by Giancarlo Bocchi .

In addition, the Croatian festival KINOOKUS where will be presented a long with the formula cine restaurant and the Spanish festival ALFICION in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute, which includes four titles: Hermosa juventud by Jaime Rosales, La Mosquitera  by Agustí Vila, Falling Star by Lluís Miñarro and Artico by Gabriel Velázquez.

There will also be this year Cinemainsegna, a school project that involves periodically a class to the screening of a feature film followed by discussion with the director.

RIFF, with the support of the Municipality Cultural Growth of Rome, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism - DGC and the support of the Culture and Youth Policy of the Lazio Region, records every year growing appreciation of audiences and critics, for the quality of the selected works. At the end of the festival they will be awarded the RIFF Awards worth over 20,000 euros.
