Set at the beginning of the fascist era, the film tells the story of Camillo, a barber hit by a psychosomatic paralysis due the end of the relationship with his beloved Vittoria. In fact, when she leaves her new boyfriend, Camillo resumes walking immediately, but for him the problems are not ended: he is denounced by a friend of Vittoria for insulting Mussolini, and eventually arrested. The movie won the silver ribbon for Best Screenplay while Marco Messeri won the italian Golden Globe for Best Breakthrough Actor.
