Nuovomondo The story is set at the beginning of the 20th century in Sicily. A very poor farmer, and a widower, decides to emigrate to the US with all his family. Before they embark, they meet a girl who for unknown reasons wants to marry someone before to arrive to New York. He accepts the proposal. It won the David di Donatello for the Best Productione Design, Best Costume Design, Best Special Effects, the Silver Lion and other 5 awards to the Director at Venice Festival.
