After the warm welcome received at the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the Cannes Film Festival, it is now in cinemas Pure Hearts by Roberto De Paolis.
A beautiful film that confirms the growth in our country of a very interesting and convincing current of social cinema.
The film is set in the reality of Tor Sapienza, on the outskirts of East Rome. And this suburb becomes a protagonist of the film: with its humanity, its contradictions, angers, anxieties, dreams.
Synopsis
Agnese and Stefano are very different. She, 18, lives with a hard and devoted mother, attends church and is about to make a promise of chastity until marriage. He, 25, is a hard-working boy who works as a caretaker in a car park in a neighboring shopping mall with a large nomads' camp. From their encounter a true feeling is born of stolen moments and mutual help. The desire of each other grows more and more, until Agnese, uncertain of betraying her ideals, will find herself making an extreme and unexpected decision.
Cast
The protagonists are effectively interpreted by Selene Caramazza and Simone Liberati. Barbora Bobulova is very convincing in the role of Agnese's mother. Stefano Fresi gives an excellent interpretation of the role of the priest. And then Edoardo Pesce, Antonella Attili, Federico Pacifici, Isabella Delle Monache.
